00 Now, we're only going to be in the world of allegedly, okay? So, everything's off the table in terms of fact. Allegedly, uh, Vegas Phil here is going to tell us what it costs for a five-star review. Allegedly. >> Whoa. What the heck? Like, if if he they buy him out for the review, >> or maybe not even just you, but maybe in like the food review culture of Vegas. >> Yeah. Not you, obviously. >> That's crazy. >> What somebody else is worth when somebody's been paid to give him a fivestar review. Mhm. >> You know, >> I think there's some misconception about how paid posts work. >> Allegedly. >> Allegedly. Allegedly. >> Uh they can't buy a fivestar review from me. >> Nice. >> What I mean has to be I don't know why it can't be a great experience, a good post, you know, kind of promoting it and it to go viral all at the same time.

52 >> Yeah. It organically happen, >> right? But if you have I mean certain influencers out there maybe in LA allegedly [laughter] with a reasonable following of say half a million or more. [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Allegedly. >> I'm going to say a post like that maybe could go for around 3,000. >> Oh, that's that's very low. It's a review from a like known reviewer >> around that level. Yeah, a million plus, maybe a little bit more. But yeah, >> I'm only I'm only 500 bucks. So if you give me 500, I'll do a fivestar review. [laughter] >> He'll be like 100 star. >> He'll be like, "Look how the meat just clings to the bone." [laughter] >> But you still got to pay for the food though. You still got to charge him for the food. >> 100 plus food.

42 >> Can you taste the dryness in that chicken? >> Undercut all these guys. >> The steak is very beef forward today. [laughter] >> Yeah. So, but yeah, I I go right around there. And obviously, everyone's in different financial situations. >> Yeah. >> Say if you're a single mom with three kids, I mean, you're probably going to be promoting a lot of stuff that >> Don't be reviewing food. Go get a job. [laughter] >> I mean, this pays more. It probably pays more than than getting a real job, but yeah. >> And hey, food on the table. >> He never has to buy groceries. >> That's crazy. >> That's a pretty good way to gauge the honesty of a food reviewer. be like, "Let me see your financials. [laughter] Let me let me see your life situation." >> I don't care about your followers. I care about how are you covering your rent. >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. [laughter] >> Obviously for you, you know, through the years as a trailblazer in social media, everyone wants to know how much you

32 make, >> right? It's none of their ████ business. And that's what it's like now in Vegas. They want to know how much all the foodies make. >> Oh, yeah. >> For some reason, I'm like, "Well, how many people have you ████ in your life? >> I don't need to know that ████ So, why are you asking me for my financials?" It's crazy. Allegedly, I could tell you how many people I ████ and if you could rights. That's true. >> I wouldn't though. Why would I do that? Obviously, I have integrity. I have integrity. Why don't we share the number then, dude? >> Over. You know, like if you talk about brand deals, you do get some pressure like that from brands. They'll be like, "Hey, we want you to do a honest review of how this is the best thing you've ever had." And then they're like, "Wait, what the ████ Honest review with the best thing? Like, don't I have my own thoughts?" And they're like, they already tell you like, no, just in your own words say how like this one smashes on the competitor [laughter] >> pretty much. >> What the ████ >> They just write it out to tell you what

23 they want to hear. Yeah, it's crazy, >> you know. Oh, no. Go ahead. >> Um, fortunately, I'm in a position where I don't have to take every brand deal. I can say no a lot. I've said no to, you know, Red Bull or Pepsi. >> Wow. >> Uh, much to the regret of my wife. Uh, cuz it is >> those are big brands to turn down. Gez. >> Yeah. I just don't I'm just not I don't personally like that stuff. Uh so or you >> Phil does Red Bull reviews. >> Tastes just like the last one. [laughter] >> Right. Right. Really taste the the food dye in there. It's [laughter] really outstanding. >> The Ripple fluffing. >> The fruit punch really tastes like fruit punch. [laughter] >> Red Bull's best with vodka. Period. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Uh how about this then? There's this um my favorite is the one that speaks to your level. I like going into

14 like a Chinese like a tea shop or something like that and they explain they there's like no shame. It says leave five star review. We give you free tea. You know what I mean? And for me, >> you know, some like boba or something like free like milk tea boba >> accent too. I like that low bar. >> That's the thing. Some of us are low bar people. >> Some of us are like, >> "Yeah, ████ it." >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. >> And I'm like this is this is you're speaking my language. They're not They're not telling me anything from their words. They're not saying you have to do this. They're just going like, "Are you desperate enough for milk tea?" >> Oh, you're not even So, you're talking not even about a brand deal. Just sometimes when you walk in, >> right, you see that little that little thing on the table. Yeah. With the QR code. >> That makes sense. >> Makes sense. >> Yeah. >> Feel like that's skirting cuz you're technically not supposed to do that though, right? >> I mean, what is it's a very gray area. >> I mean, you shouldn't, but all Google reviews now are kind of doctorred. I

05 mean, there are there are companies now that will offer >> your choice of 500 positive reviews on your restaurant or 500 negative reviews on your competitor. >> Holy crazy now. >> Whoa. >> Yeah, >> that's illegal. That should be illegal, dude. >> It's insane. >> What's that website? [laughter] >> There are a few people around Vegas that that offer that to restaurants, though. >> Jeez. >> It's wild. >> Yeah. And as time goes on, specifically for like international tourists, they only rely on Google reviews. You know, the aggregate score. >> What do you think the race of the people running that company is? >> I'm going to say definitely Asian. [laughter] >> Allegedly. >> Native Asian. >> Asian. >> Eastern. Maybe. >> No, we're not. [laughter] >> How do you know? >> Allegedly. I'm going to go with uh I'm

55 going to go with Filipino. [laughter] >> Good call. Good call. Good call. >> Yo, that's just like the sickest crazy racket that they just started. >> What? >> The Filipino racket of just going around being like, "Hey, I give you 500 good reviews or your competitor 500 bad ones." >> That is pretty funny. >> And imagine just strong armor and be like, "If you don't pay for my service, I give them discount to bomb your reviews." >> Oh jeez. Yeah. Is that a Filipino guy? >> No. No, that's [laughter] that's Cantonese guy, I think. >> That sounds so scary. >> Yeah. 500 >> Uncle Roger. [laughter] >> I know who that was. >> Yo, 500 negative reviews will bomb your business. >> Yeah, man. It's ████ crazy, man. >> Like, it'll end you. >> Yeah, it's really sad. >> Have you Have you been to Cuz I'll see some people post uh like certain

45 restaurants and like they don't even have social media. Um have you found any of those ones and you're like, "Man, I wish these guys just started one. They would blow up." >> Oh, tons. Yeah, I've I actually did a couple posts on my favorite restaurants in Vegas that don't give a ████ about social media. >> Wow, that's a great article. Can you name a couple of them? >> Sure. Uh, Sushi Hero Yoshi on Jones and Charleston. It's a Japanese husband and wife that run the place. Super small restaurant, but amazing sushi. And they haven't posted in over 10 years. >> Is it like a regular table place or is it like a omocasi? So, there's a sushi bar uh that fits maybe four people, six people, and that's the best place to be. You can do a full-on omasi. You can do a ████ omakas where they just bring out piece by piece. >> Oh my god. >> And they're pretty flexible. >> Sushi Hiroshima. >> Sush sushi. [laughter] >> Sushi Hiro Yoshi.

35 >> Hiroshi. Go. >> I mean, [laughter and clears throat] there's a good catchphrase there. If they if someone actually wanted to do that, >> lost opportunity. [laughter] It kind of it kind of >> stick your head in the door and ask that when you go there. >> Um, [clears throat] so that is one. And then New Asian Barbecue. Uh, iconic dim sum place. >> Okay. Okay. >> On Spring Mountain. >> New Asian Barbecue. >> Yeah. No social media. >> No social media. They don't give a ████ >> That name they definitely don't give a ████ So generic. Yeah. [laughter] >> Yeah. It's funny. Uh, some of the servers will recognize me because I've done posts and they probably see people that come in from the post, but the owners don't give a ████ It's funny that it's called barbecue, but they serve dim sum. >> Yeah, because [laughter] of the the ducks and >> they do hanging meats and all that stuff. Yeah, the crispy pork belly is awesome. >> Duck is probably the best cheap pacing duck in Vegas. And it's a whole like old

25 school '8s Chinese banquet vibe, >> which makes me feel all the Yeah. Everyone's loud in there. >> Yeah, there's an annex in the back, you know, >> overflow of all the people will be. It's really cool. >> I miss those. >> Yeah, highly recommend it. >> Nice. very busy on weekends. But uh yeah, you should definitely go. >> You had me a cheapest baking duck, dude. Cheapest pacing duck. I'm in. >> So I think they just take the roast duck and throw in the deep fryer [laughter] >> before they were baking ducks. I think a lot of places do that. >> Yeah. Not bad. >> Tastes good. >> To be fair, that's probably most of the pacing duck I've ever had in my life. >> Yeah, I think for for everyone. >> Yeah. >> Um You by CJ just opened up at Tivoli Village. That's probably the best Chinese restaurant that's ever opened. >> You like like you or Yu? Why you >> you so >> in Tivoli Village? >> Yeah, they just opened. >> Oh, wait.

15 >> Time out. No, >> duck there is ████ great. >> We're so curious about Tivoli Village. We're convinced that it's like a it's like a drug front or like there's some money laundering. That place doesn't make any sense. >> I totally believe that for sure. >> Right. >> I don't even know how it still exists. >> Right. >> I don't either, dude. >> It has the most baller stores and I don't see anybody. >> No, >> you don't go to Restoration Hardware, >> the fourstory building there. That is crazy. >> Is this so baller? It's like a jewelry thing where it's like uh two customers today paid for the red for the month. Is it like that? >> Well, all the stores in there are like that. So, there's a gym upstairs. >> David Barton. >> Who's David Barton? The owner? >> I think that's the the gym brand. Yeah. >> Oh, there's a gym up there. Um and like they're they're when you go in there's like a night's armor. I didn't go. I just saw videos. But then that place it's $1,000 a month. I'm like, who the ████ can afford $1,000 a month for a

05 jam? >> Hey, what's the night's armor? It's just their like theme, their branding. >> The 45 plates aren't even regular 45 plates. They're like custommade like wagon wheel looking things. >> Whoa. >> The whole place is dark and there's like neon lights. >> There's not one guy working out. >> Well, I've never been in there. I just can't imagine people paying $1,000 to go work out. >> That's above your price point. >> Yeah, probably. Probably. >> Broke boy. >> Yeah. >> Give him a fivestar review for a free sesh. [laughter] >> That's for McDonald ranch guys like myself. They'll have like couch stores there that like the couch is like 20 G's. Like it's just crazy. The crazy. >> So maybe they just need one sale. >> Yeah. [laughter] >> And then they just shut the doors. >> Makes sense. >> Yeah. Most stores don't. >> It is. It is crazy. >> Except for Leone Cafe. It's good. I'm like, I understand. But >> Leon Cafe is the only place that's busy. >> Yeah, it really is. Literally. >> It's one of the day one businesses

55 that's still there at Tivly. >> Wow, dude. It's such a mysterious place. >> It is. But you by CJ is great. Uh special noodle. Um, if you've ever been there, it's the same company and they just did like an elevated gourmet version. >> CJ. Oh, dude. >> Really good. Yeah. I just went last week. >> Hell yeah. And none of these guys got social media, huh? >> Uh, you by CJ kind of does. >> Oh, they just started maybe. >> Yeah. But Asian restaurants in general just don't do a great job. >> Yeah. >> With social or give a ████ you know? They think the ad in the newspapers. >> Love. I love that they don't give a ████ [laughter] >> Yeah. Your dad will read it and be like, "Oh, yeah. I read this, you know, saw this in the newspaper." >> Ponds. >> Yeah. Five 5% off. The ones that do give a ████ give a ████ I feel like the ones that do give a ████ happened like those those cooks or owners have like a kid, >> someone's son. Yeah, it's like a daughter. Some little Chinese daughter somewhere's like, "Okay, I have to

45 help." Like, "We should do this, Dad." We're like, "We're falling out." Like, "Oh, okay." >> I like I like that they don't have it, though, cuz I feel like they're more impervious to the extorting of reviews, you know? They're like, "If you if you don't like hire us, we're going to ████ your reviews up." like we don't even care about review. ████ you. >> Pretty much. Yeah. I mean, if you could still last without social media in this day and age, I mean, >> it's got to be a great place. >> Must be good then, right? >> But I think you should have some sort of presence at this point. If you're not on the phone, you literally don't exist, especially in Vegas. >> Yeah, that's true. >> How often do you eat something really regular like Chipotle? >> Man, I haven't been at Chipotle in a very long time. >> Good. Very good. >> He hates it. >> You hate it? >> I absolutely hate Chipotle. >> Interesting. And it's very important for him to impress his emotions about places on other people. >> Motivated his feelings. >> Why do you

35 >> um I don't know. I guess in my brain or in my palette I have categories >> and then so it just doesn't fit any of them. [laughter] >> Like if I want a cheap, quick, dirty burrito, I'll go to Roberto's. >> Yeah. >> Right. If I want something like it just doesn't like if I want something dank or clean or like just I'm like why would I ever go to Chipotle? It just doesn't even hit any of them. >> Why would I ever go? If you ever want to get some a little light diarrhea, >> you don't like corrugated metal decor. What's wrong? [laughter] >> Exposed ducts. That doesn't play a role in your appetite. >> No. Like if I want diarrhea, I'll go to Taco Bell. [laughter] >> Taco Bell over. Yeah. >> Yeah. There's just I don't know. There's just like it just doesn't fit any of the categories. >> It's such a creative way to talk the most ████ on a place I've ever heard. [laughter] Yeah.

25 >> What about if you want to overpay for your portions? Would you go to Chipotle for that? >> Then I'll go to one of those like fancy Mexican restaurants where the burrito's like this big and then it has the free chips and salsa or whatever. >> If your wife if your wife loves If Gio really loves Chipotle and she wants to get it when you guys are together, you go somewhere else and she gets Chipotle. >> No, she usually just won't even get it with me or she'll just wait when I'm not around and her and Tao go get it. >> Eliminating a whole other customer because of your dislike. >> But I don't mind. And I'm like, if you want, you can go. Cuz so here's the thing. So now you're adding a layer of complication [laughter] because so [clears throat] first we're talking about hitting my pallets, right? [laughter] >> Now the second one you're talking about couple marriage dynamics. [laughter] Marriage dynamics is I'll eat anything you want if you come and eat what I

15 want. That's where she says no. If I go if I go with you Chipotle five times, you come get dim sum with me five times. She doesn't like dips. >> Like, nah, I'm good. I'm just won't eat Chipotle. [laughter] >> We Me and Bart were we had dinner the other night and we're just like, we're ████ talking about our feelings about how we can't take our wives to dim sum cuz like Tiff doesn't like it. So, me and Bart are like, "We got to get dim sum by ourselves, dude. We got to go together." >> Yeah. >> And he he he took me to get some Singaporean place cuz I was trying to take Gio and Ta. And I was like, "Hey, babe, look at this new place." And then Gio's like, "Uh." [clears throat] Uh, and then I hear Ta in the back go. And I'm like, you don't even KNOW WHAT IT IS. [laughter] YOU'RE already You're alreadying something. >> They're on that level. They're on the same level. >> What's it to hate about dim sum? I don't get it. >> They're Mexican. [laughter] >> Latina's Latinas, dude. >> I still don't get it.

05 >> I don't get it either. >> I don't know. Like conservative white. >> Just chicken feet. That's the quickest stereotype. Everybody says dim sum chicken feet. If you're not Chinese, you don't. It's the quickest turnoff. Yeah. >> Wife doesn't eat pork, unfortunately.
