00 Apparently, there's this whole thing now where people hold reservations at like three different restaurants and then they'll make the call at like seven and so restaurant owners are calling this kind of an epidemic where there's just a bunch of booked prime time spots and then people illegal, dude. That should be illegal. >> So ████ up. Yeah. >> I cuz I don't like when I book a a reservation and they they say they're going to charge my card if I don't show up >> cuz already that makes me feel like that's a rule and I'm like makes me not want to show up [laughter] for that's my own thing. That's my own thing. >> I actually like that. >> No, no, no. But this is why they have to do that. >> Yeah. >> Because of people ruin it. >> People and I always I don't like cancelelling. I don't like being that guy that cancels last minute. >> Yeah. [snorts] But these people should be jailed for that >> cuz most of the policies are like you can you can cancel except up to 24

50 hours. >> Dude, you pick one restaurant, that's the one you get to go to. Okay. >> Especially in a town like this where >> Oh yeah. >> the reservations are >> they're up for grabs. >> They think 24-hour cancellation is pretty ████ up. >> Yeah. For mom and pop restaurant, they're depending on those reservations. So they buy like a specific number of ingredients day, especially like a Japanese restaurant or something like that. So that definitely hurts. Uh the the glitch to get away with all that is actually to reschedu that reservation like 30 days later and then just cancel it so you don't get the fee. >> The res unfortunately that's >> I for the following week. >> Yeah. And then just cancel it the next day. So you don't you don't lose the >> the deposit. >> Wow. >> But sometimes if you call them they'll be like, "All right, it's cool. Thank you." >> But there are some restaurants that make a ton I mean annually off those canceled

41 reservations. >> Oh, what? >> Yeah, some of the restaurants I've heard. >> Yeah, five figures. They'll make five like five figures just on cancellations annually. It's wild. >> I got to start. >> Wow. >> I didn't think about that. >> Well, I guess the argument is like how much would they have made if those people just showed up and paid for food? [laughter] >> Very true. >> Well, it's called passive income. >> It's even better because someone showed up anyway, so you like got more. Yeah. Double. >> Yeah. But that is a pretty dirty thing to do. Three reservations. I mean, I've I've never done that. Just choose a ████ place. You can go the other place. >> What race do you think they are? [laughter] >> To hold them all. >> Women. >> Women race. >> You think women do that? >> Ladies do that. >> Smart and practical. >> Yeah. >> Oh, really? >> When you're not when you're not trying to be like conscious of a mom and pop restaurant, you know, when you're like,

31 "Hey, we have to have a schedule. Let's make these options available. If we can't do that, we'll cancel because things might have to flow that way." You know, they just it's a logically prepped thing for your environment. >> And if you think about who has the hardest time picking what to eat, >> ladies. So true. >> That is for like I'll just book all of them. [laughter] >> Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You're absolutely right. >> You're absolutely right. This is a bachelorette party. >> Figured it out. >> For sure. Cuz guys, I think they know what they want. >> I know girls actually do this. Actually, now I'm thinking about it. >> That's ████ up. I've never I've never met someone that's done that. I I I have for organizing like a larger event or like a a thing in town. I have like maybe booked a restaurant and then before 24 hours had to make a change and just you know in the group that you're like hey we have both of these on deck but we'll make a call by this time. >> I've heard about two restaurants. >> If you have like 13 people you got to be like I have to make a reservation but I don't know where the people are going

21 to. >> So then as long as you follow the rules >> I'll do that when I'm traveling because you know sometimes you're mapping out a route. We're going to be at this hotel so this restaurant. Oh ████ But then they can't fit this. So, we got to go to that hotel. So, it's boo over here. >> But, I've never booked three and I never do like >> ████ trying to cancel the same day. I'm usually pre-planning. >> I actually think I've only booked one reservation and then the other option you didn't need a reservation and then so we're just vibing out with one. >> That's a nicer way to do it. >> Or or the only other guilty thing is when you walk into a restaurant and it's a walk-in and then you put your name on the little thing and you're like an hour and a half. Okay, I'll keep my number there, but maybe we'll >> Yeah, that's a whole different story. If the wait is too long, there's got to be a plan B. >> That's what happens to me at 888 or whatever the heck. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That like >> you go and you put your name on the weight list. >> Well, I didn't know that. Like I guess

11 the one that I went to and um I I think it's the Japanese barbecue one. >> Yeah. >> Mhm. >> I went in there and then um I was like, "Oh, can I put my name down?" They're like, "It's going to be 2 hours." [laughter] I was like, "Do you so you can't make reservation?" They're like, "No." And I'm like, "How did all these people do it?" And they were like, "They went on Yelp or something." I was like, "What?" >> The the Yelp weight list. >> I was like, "Why didn't you just tell me to do that?" [laughter] >> I hate when the restaurants have confusing signs like this. So, one of my favorite f places, I don't put them on blast. They do that. >> I'll call and then I'll try to do the Yelp weight list on the app. They won't do it. >> And then when I get there, they're like, "Oh, do you put your name on the wet?" And I'm like, "What the ████ You literally can't do it on my phone." He go, "Yeah, you have to do it in person." I'm like, "Well, if I'm already in person, why don't you just write my name down?" Oh, no. I forget all the time. And I'm like, "All right, >> I forget all the time." >> Yeah. There's a guy there. He'll like, you know, once you get there, like ton

02 katu, right? Once you go there, you write your name on a piece of paper. >> So when I go there, I'm like, "Okay, since I'm here, they will do the paper method." And he goes, "No, do digital method." And I'm like, "What? What can I do digital at home then?" I'm like, "Dude, this is >> I know it doesn't make sense." >> Well, that weight list thing, a lot of them you have to be Yeah, you have to be within a certain radius. >> That's what they want you to do, huh? You can't be at home and then make a like a I would want to do that for what's it called? Um Oh my god, I'm blanking out. Shaboo Shabi the best one. Chubby cattle style. Mikia, right? Nina. Nina always wants to be so she knows exactly which part of our drive is like this is where the weight list radius opens up. >> Yeah, cuz you have to be like within like a 15minute uh radius of it. It's a time thing. It's not like a mileage thing. It's like within 15 minutes or something. >> It's like having a house arrest bracelet on. >> [laughter]

52 >> You don't get perks cuz you're a member. >> No, you only get the member price when you're there. You don't get perks for like Yelp. >> Membership doesn't get you priority seating or anything like that. >> That should be That would be a good idea. >> Obvious perk. >> Yeah, >> you should tell them. >> I should tell them. >> I think you should tell them. >> Yeah, David David would be all over that. >> I wish restaurants had a cut the reservation or cut the line fee. I'd pay that a bunch. >> Don't they have a little $20 bill to the guy? >> Sure. Yeah, you could still tip the hostess to get bumped up. Yeah, >> I would love to. >> Yeah, forget the blinds guy. Give it to the >> I would do that all the time. If I went to like a >> You've never done that? You've never been like, "Here's a little something for you." >> I don't think I'm smooth enough. >> Oh, >> you got to be like Anthony and like all ████ smooth and like look like you're like melting and ████ >> You don't have the [laughter] >> Bart. I think you're smooth enough to pull out your cash and give it to another human. You think you're really

42 good at that. >> You know what to do, right? [laughter] And then they're like, "Uh, this guy's this guy's ████ trying to exploit me. This is for the cut the line fee." Honestly, Bart, the way he would do it, he'd probably be like, "Yeah, you know what I'm saying?" He'd probably do like that and then host [clears throat] be like, "I think that's sexual harassment." [laughter] >> Yeah. >> Lifetime bad. >> Are you trying to buy merch? [laughter] >> Lifetime bad. You know the guys that dine and dash like don't let this guy and he'll be like me trying to like [laughter] >> trying to give them money. You're up there with dine and dashers. >> Yeah. >> Damn. Have you ever dined to dash? >> I did. You did? >> Once. This is a long time ago when I was living in New York. Uh my friend and I were super drunk at like 2:00 a.m. and they never came back for like 35 45

32 minutes. >> And we were like, "You know what? We're just going to get the ████ out of here." >> That's a good call. And we did, unfortunately. I think I was like 25 >> when it happened. >> Oh. >> And uh yeah, it was a neighborhood restaurant right by my apartment. >> Is that why you shaved your head from there? [laughter] >> I was filled now. >> No. No. But yeah. Uh I never I never thought about that. >> But we did. We h we were so wasted and we're just like let's get the hell out of here. They never came back. >> I died at dash out of writing before [laughter] >> a writing. who who dies at a riding >> or like a CVS where like well I didn't actually I did pay actually so it was um the all their like checkout things were all like broken >> and I think the worker didn't really give a ████ so the line was crazy >> so I was like man ████ this I just took

22 whatever I needed it might have been like Visine or something and I just put five bucks on the shelf and I just walked out [laughter] >> yeah I was like they'll I was like this is an equal transaction right until the next guy's like $5. [laughter] >> Oh, have have you been to Petrol Head? >> I have. >> It's that car bar that's like behind Chinatown like in that little thing. So, I was there uh the other week and the power completely went out in the whole plaza and it was at night and it was like their anniversary thing. >> Oh, yeah. I heard her when I heard about that. >> Yeah, I was in there and the power just completely goes out. So, there nobody can pay their bill. Everybody wants to leave because they're like we're not going to wait around. And so, like, I was at the bar going like, "Uh, well, I don't have cash to pay. Like, how can I how can we pay for this because I have to go?" And the the dude was like, "Uh, you might just have to wait." I was

12 like, "I'm not waiting here. What the [laughter] hell?" >> So then what they did is they just took my card and then they were like, "We're just going to like uh scan it or like swipe it now and then when the power I guess they had something that did have power that could swipe your card and then like when the power fully goes on, then the charge will go through." And I'm like, "That's a lot of trust you're asking." >> Yeah, dude. What the hell? >> Yeah. But there was nothing you could do. So I was like, "All right, cool. I'll just check later if the charge is the right amount." >> Cuz no one has that thing anymore, huh? Where it goes? >> Yeah. [laughter] >> Paper from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. But the ghetto one would you would just put the card in, you would take a pen and just the carbon, right? The carbon print. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. It's so weird. >> The owner's Venmo. >> Yeah. I was like, there has to be something >> something. They can't Yeah. Nobody's going to sit there in the dark.

02 >> They weren't even prepared because not only like the the entire plaza was out, but like a couple blocks surrounding it were out, too. >> So, like everyone was like freaking about it. You couldn't really do much. Yeah, it was a really sad mess. Yeah. But then they did. I looked the next day and they charged the correct amount. >> Oh, wow. That's awesome. Worked >> minus tip. They didn't They didn't add tip. >> I thought they were going to do that. I was like, are you guys going to add a crazy amount of tip? >> Yeah, it was pretty cool. Yeah. >> Yeah. Those owners are really nice. They own a bunch of places around town. Yeah. NO barbecue. >> Oh, they own Nelson, too. >> Tleour. Um, >> they own the Tulleour, the coffee place right next to it. >> Yeah. Ellen and her husband own a bunch of them around town. Uh, a bunch of restaurants around town. >> Oh, that's >> Yeah, but they're good people. >> Wow. That means all the restaurants were out of power. [laughter] >> I know. For real. What a what a Yeah,

53 what a ████ show to do that of all nights. >> That must have been crazy. But yeah, Petrol's uh Petrol Head's a cool space. It >> is cool. >> Yeah. Nice kind of tucked away bar.
