00 All right, we're going to settle this thing because I can't let it go unaddressed. Every time we post a video about military stuff and we feature boot camp stories and then Bart shares one of his stories about how the drill sergeant socked him in the face or slammed him. You get tons of Marine vets in the comments calling ████ that didn't happen, there's no way that's possible, this guy's ████ lying. And these guys are like from the same generation as you. Why The question is why do so many Marines believe that it's impossible to get assaulted at boot camp? >> I think they're actually from the next generation. >> Are they really? >> Yeah, cuz uh cuz um the ones So I went to boot camp in 2003 and then my my experience and before a lot of people got assaulted. And then I'm just being more straightforward and

51 how I speak. But there's a lot of euphemisms. Like the if drill instructors do get in trouble cuz a recruit got a black eye, it's like the recruit ran into my fist. Like it's just to me I'm just like, you got socked, right? So there's a lot of that or you'll see a lot of um a drill instructor will just fly down like where our barracks with his hand out like this. And he's like, move out of my way. And you obviously he's moving uh at a speed that you cannot move out of his way so he socks you. But it's not like like a jumping where you grab someone by the and you're like this cuz that's straight up illegal. But there are times where it's just like boom! Cuz he's he's talking boom and knocks out his glasses off. And then it And then he was like And then he was like, I didn't know you were there. And they're like, that ████ got socked. >> Stop hitting myself. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, like that. Like ████

41 like that. So you'll see a lot of that where people running into hands, into fists or um random getting socked in the mouth but then they're pretending it's not there or they're like, for instructional purposes only. So if they get socked, so if they were to get written about by an officer, they're like technically in that moment because I said instructional purposes only, I was teaching Marine Corps martial arts. >> [laughter] >> So anytime that they're going to break the rules, they always yell out, "For instructional purposes only." >> Oh, okay. Wow. >> That's ████ hilarious. When they use that, they can bend a lot of rules. Like they can grab a recruit and like dunk them and drown them in the pool. That's how you not drown. >> That's the jujitsu in your kids but in the military, basically, right? >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. >> Yeah, that's that's crazy. Like how come

32 there's so many I do see them too sometimes and then they're like he's lying. And I'm like >> Well, cuz like haven't they heard other stories of other guys before them? Like or other guys in the same gen? >> Is it a online bro code thing? >> Like you're not supposed to say stuff. >> Oh yeah, are they just like stop talking about it? >> Maybe there's a last day of boot camp NDA day that I missed and I didn't know. I don't know. >> [laughter] >> Or or it's like the last day like, "Hey, everything that happened here, shh. Okay, guys?" And then maybe I missed that day. >> Maybe that day started in the social media era. >> Like about military stuff? >> Cuz you went to boot camp and you weren't nobody was online talking about stuff. >> Yeah, that's true. >> Or could it be like different units I mean have different drill instructor instructors and some probably are milder than others. Sure, but like I mean generally, yeah, sure, that's possible

23 because even so >> There's two main places to have boot camp, Parris Island and MCRD San Diego and there are multiple companies, multiple platoons, multiple drill instructors and each one is going to run them differently. Even in your own boot camp platoon, you have three or four drill instructors and you know which one's going to be a nightmare, which one's more by the books. So sure, for sure. But the amount of hazing that goes on where I've seen recruits randomly get ████ Superman out of nowhere. Uh like hit in the face, instructional purposes only. That kind of ████ I saw like on the daily. >> What kind of guys are these that are um that are commenting and they and they have military all over their ████ all over their bio, on their photos, videos, and they just are so sure that this

14 could never happen. >> And they're all older than like 23? >> Yeah, they're all cuz I checked. I'm like, these can't Maybe these are like kids. And no, they look older than Bart. So, I'm like, some of these some some of these guys look older. >> Well, some guys are younger by 10 years and they look older than us. >> That's true. That's true. >> Yeah. I mean, cuz just if you if you compare like Subin's boot camp stories, right? Him having a phone in boot camp is already insane. >> Yeah. [laughter] Right. >> Him like uh that one story he explained where like there was a guy he had a death in the family. >> Yeah. >> And then he didn't want to train. And then the drill instructor or his drill sergeant was able to come down to his level and level with him. Hey man, I know that sucks, but we got to finish training. We got to finish boot camp. We never had that. The our drill instructors never broke the fourth wall. If you were sad, he would just call you like you bad words, ████ whatever. Or

06 you better your your grandpa's not going to come back alive anyways, but I'll kill you. Or you want to meet your grandpa? Like It's like They never break the fourth wall to let you know >> Right. >> they're human being. >> Yeah, yeah, right, right, right. >> You just see them as another person until there's this uh thing called the crucible in the middle of boot camp where it's like a really hard three four-day thing. Afterwards, that's when I learned or that's when I saw the human side of my drill instructor for 5 minutes. He's like, we got the hardest part out of the way. I just want to let you guys know if I don't see you guys ever again cuz this is like Iraq time. Like 2003, right? >> Yeah. >> He's like, the reason why we're so hard on you is blah blah blah blah. I'm I'm just trying to create Marines that I feel comfortable being side by side, my back with. After that was over, get the ████ on the god damn ████ piece of ████ you ████ ████ That's it. It was the 5 minutes after the crucible human being

57 boom right back to drill instructor until um until we graduate. Yeah. And then even after I graduated uh me and this guy, the guy who got the tattoo with, I think maybe a year or two later we had to go to Camp Pendleton to get something like probably like a uniform item. So we're like oh let's just go back to uh MCRD which is the Marine recruit depot just to see what it was about. Uh see like how things are and what was crazy is my old drill instructor was with a platoon. He was marching a platoon. >> Woah. >> And then so we're driving by and we're like oh ████ He's He was Staff Sergeant Ingle at the time. And then uh I don't know if he think he was going to recognize me and my buddy because they go through thousands. >> Sure, yeah. >> And then as soon as he saw me and my buddy he was like holy ████ ████ Who do we have here? >> His voice was still like that? >> Well he's with his platoon, right?

47 >> Wow. >> So what's crazy I was like dude even after he's still not a human being to me. But what was cool he like he told us to come here cuz I'm not a marine I'm not a recruit anymore. But he told me to come here he was like hey can you give these guys these guys are third phase they're about to graduate. Um you were a former Lima platoon. Can you give them like some words of encouragement? So that was super cool. >> What did What did you say? >> He's like you guys are ████ or some ████ hooah ████ >> Probably like it's ████ tough now but don't you worry look at the light at the end of the tunnel it's going to be going to get easier or whatever. >> But for me or guys >> Give me a mug. I go to E 11 now so things are on the up and up. >> [laughter] >> HE'S STILL IN COLLEGE? >> THERE'S GUYS LITERALLY LOOKING AT you going woah he made it to college boys. >> Yeah dude. >> That could be us one day.

37 >> He got into college. He got into UCLA. >> It's a very all right community college out in LA. >> It's just a community college. It's like ghetto as >> It's not very great. >> Ex-felons and like senior citizens and like yeah. >> Sony step sons. >> Yeah, yeah. >> No Sony step sons. >> Do you all have the same tat? >> Yeah. [laughter] >> It's from a joke. It's from like a big joke we did. >> It's from a joke that's still going. >> From the big joke we did is such a bad explanation. >> Wait, what does it say? >> Fear everyone. >> You can't You can't You read Chinese? >> Uh that's Japanese. >> It's Japanese. >> [laughter] >> It's wrong Japanese. >> It's wrong Japanese. It doesn't make sense. >> It's wrong. >> Which part of it is wrong? >> A lot of it, I think. >> [laughter] >> It's supposed to say um Gatemo oroshite nai. >> Would you like to tell them a story real

27 quick? >> All right, so to catch up on the story, um I went to boot camp with my best friend. After boot camp, we both got sent to the same uh base on the East Coast, which is Camp Johnson, Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, um to do our MOS school, which is like a job school in the military. When we were there, we're like, "Okay, yeah, we're full of this warrior spirit." cuz we just graduated boot camp. We're like, "We got to get something to commemorate this." And then we should get a matching tattoo cuz we're best friends. But I'm Chinese, he's Korean. So like if I get Chinese, if we get Chinese, it'll be like I own you. >> And if we both get Korean, it's like he owns me. >> Japanese, they own both of >> [laughter] >> Yeah. We're like, "Let's meet in the middle and do Japanese." >> Exactly. >> So this is 2004 now. >> Yeah. >> We go into the computer lab and we go on Google Translate. We go, "Fear no one." Like what's What's like some tough thing? And then we printed it out. We're

17 like, "Cool. It says fear no one." We go to some random like white tattoo artist shop. He's like, "Hey, I can't guarantee what this stuff says. It's going to be on you guys." So we're like, "Oh, don't worry. We got this. It's Google Translate. It's going to be great." from 2004. >> [laughter] >> So we get it >> It can't get any better. >> We get it tattooed here. When I come back uh to California, I'm hanging out with Joe, and then Joe's mom was like, "Hey, like, what's your friend scared of?" And he's like, "What do you mean?" He goes, "Well, it says he's scared of everybody." >> [laughter] >> And then I was like, "Wait, what?" I was like, "That's what it says?" He goes, "Yeah, he's scared of everybody. What's going on?" And I'm like, "Holy s███." So, that became a thing, and then we were we were at It became a thing, and then we got to like 1.9, 1.98 uh, million followers on the YouTube channel, and it would always

08 just get right to 2 million and come back down. You get right to 2 million, come back down. And then so, we made a stupid bet cuz we never thought it was ever going to happen. If we cross 2 million, everyone else is going to get the rest of the matching stupid ass tattoo. And then we got past 2 million. >> But he had to get a second one. Why did you have to get another one? >> Well, so this one matches them. >> That was the only reason we were going to do it. >> Oh, okay, okay, okay. >> that was what he had to do. We were like, "Hey, we're only going to do it if you get ████ two." >> [laughter] >> So, this matches the other guy, and then this one matches them. >> So, hold on. Would you guys hit 3 mil? >> Maybe another one. >> Nothing. Nothing. No more. >> Would you like one right on the side of the ████ >> [laughter] >> If we hit 3 mil, we all get Invisalign. >> And it's grammatically incorrect, and it's flipped upside down. >> Yeah, it's so [snorts] bad. >> Oh, the word it's okay. It's supposed to

58 be like not afraid. That's the word that he was trying to But he doesn't have the word not. >> Oh, so it just says afraid of horrible. Okay. >> It's supposed to be dare mo auto say nai. It doesn't have the nai. And then it's flipped, so it says auto say da uh >> [laughter] >> auto say auto is I, right? >> Auto no, auto say is like scared, like or fear, like and then dare mo is like anybody or like nobody or whatever. Yeah, but then it's like It's supposed to be this. These two characters are supposed to be on the bottom with a not. So, dare mo auto dare mo >> dare mo auto say nai. >> That's why our our logo is fear everyone. And then these are the characters, yeah. That's our the brand. >> like literally saying I'm afraid of everyone. >> [laughter] >> But it's But it's it's it's it's wrong. It's just ████ up in so many ways. >> It's like gibberish to like real Japanese people when they see it. >> My mom was like, "That's all wrong. Why

50 Why is he a It says he's afraid of some not nobody It says he's afraid." >> It's good thing you didn't get deployed to Japan. >> Yeah. >> Cuz they'll be like, "The the dude this guy's ████ scared of everybody." >> Yeah, it's it's scary as ████ >> 2004 Google Translate, so >> And these are like 2024 decisions. >> Yeah. [laughter] >> Pretty much. >> It's a good story, though. >> The Japanese tourists in Waikiki love staring at my leg. >> But the other two guys who have this tattoo who aren't here, it's their one and only tattoo ever. >> Yeah. >> That's that's kind of funny. >> There are the other three guys, actually. >> Yeah, there's a third guy we never even met. >> [laughter] >> And that's his only tattoo, too. >> We all match with him. >> How would he react if he found out you have two of them now? >> I don't know. >> He'd You betrayed me. >> know, but what's [laughter] funny is um I think in one JK News video or

40 something, I might have mentioned, I wonder if he got it lasered off or he had it. And through a mutual friend, my friend texted me. He actually texted him his leg. So I think he saw the video and he's like, "I still got it." >> Wow, he still has it. >> Shout-outs to that guy, dude. That guy changed my life. And I just want him to know >> If you guys [clears throat] see him >> will If you ever see anyone with this on their left leg, you'll know it. >> That's who it is. >> But it's got to It's got to be like aged, you know? >> Yeah. Cuz it can't be some random guy that just watches the video and does it. >> [laughter] >> Just some random guy. >> It's me, guys. Like, "What the hell? You're ████ 23." It's not you. >> Let us know in the comments um Hey, if you're one of those guys that just be saying that that it could never happen, let us know why, please God. Every time I ask one of these guys, "Why do you think that?" they don't respond. So, please if you're one of the people who believes that you can't get punched

31 while you're in boot camp, I want to know what your reason is for believing that.
